BlockRay uses the bare minimum: only strictly necessary cookies that make the site work and keep it secure, plus a first-party theme preference. We do not use analytics, advertising or any third-party marketing trackers - so there is nothing to "opt in" to and no tracking banner to dismiss.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Some are essential for a site to function (for example, to keep you signed in); others are used to track behaviour for analytics or advertising. We only use the first kind.
Cookies we use
- Session cookie (
blockray_session) - used by the app: keeps your session state, e.g. so a wallet sign-in persists across pages. Expires when the session ends. - CSRF-protection cookie (
XSRF-TOKEN) - used by the app: a security token that protects forms and requests from cross-site request forgery. - Theme preference cookie (
br_theme) - remembers the colour theme you picked so pages can render it before first paint. First-party, contains only the theme name, and is never used for tracking.
The strictly necessary cookies are exempt from prior consent under the EU ePrivacy rules because the service cannot function without them, which is why you won't see a cookie consent pop-up.
What we do NOT use
- No analytics or measurement cookies (Google Analytics or similar).
- No advertising, retargeting or social-media tracking cookies.
- No third-party marketing or profiling of any kind.
Local storage
For convenience we may store small preferences in your browser's local storage - for example, that you
accepted the disclaimer (br_disclaimer_accepted_v1) or your chosen theme
(br_theme). Local storage stays on your device, is not a cookie, and is not transmitted to us.
Managing cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Note that blocking the strictly necessary cookies above may break sign-in and other core features.
For how we handle data more broadly, see our Privacy Policy.
